Lemon Verbena Hydrosol - Organic

Our Bioflore hydrosols are 100% pure, preservative-free and of food-grade quality. They can be used both internally and externally, for skin and hair care.

This means that some products have relatively short best-before dates. In the case of this hydrosol, which is one of the most sensitive, its best-before date is only a few months from the date it is bottled. We would advise you to check the best-before date of the batch currently on offer before placing your order, to ensure that it suits your needs.

The essential oil, originating from South America or North Africa, is expensive because it is difficult to produce. For economic reasons as well as to obtain an acceptable level of aroma, the essential oil is diluted (see the associated products below). The hydrosol offers us another effective way to benefit from the action of this remarkable aromatic plant. The aroma is sumptuous, similar to that of the essential oil

Externally

The pH of 5.5 on average is close to that of the skin's acid mantle.

It clarifies the complexion of normal and combination skin. It tightens the skin's texture and in this case will appreciate the company of cistus hydrosol.

The same soothing properties as those of the essential oil are necessarily present.
Verbena hydrosol soothes and refreshes the skin, especially sensitive skin. It seems to have a marked affinity for mucous membranes.

It can be recommended as a mouthwash after dental surgery, alone or in combination: with cistus if there is bleeding, with immortelle if there is swelling.
Also as a nasal bath in case of dry mucous membranes when the heating is on full blast.

Used as is, or in combination with fine lavender or peppermint, it is an excellent natural after-shave. Its aroma, with notes of grass and citrals, is well suited to men, in preference to floral or fruit aromas.

Oral use

Integrated into the drinking water, we find the fundamental aspects conveyed by the essential oil.

The hydrosol will have an impact on stress and anxiety. We are obviously thinking of stress with strong emotional implications, that which "knots the stomach".

The specificity of verbena, which in this case is quite similar to lemon balm, is to re-instill joy and confidence when self-esteem and emotional vitality are at half-mast.

It will promote endocrine balance and digestion, with a marked affinity for the thyroid and pancreas.

Interesting solution in the case of pre-menstrual syndrome and to soothe cramps more generally.

Excellent as an aperitif if there is a lack of appetite in a context of stress and emotional tension.

Very good as an evening tea for a peaceful and restful sleep. Delicious in desserts, pastries, fish and shellfish recipes.

Oral use: 1 to 2 tablespoons in 1 litre of water.

The 200 ml bottles combine lightness with optimal protection: an aluminium outer shell and an inner layer made from food-grade, bisphenol A-free resin, providing an effective UV barrier and good thermal insulation. This choice also helps to reduce the carbon footprint thanks to the lightweight packaging.

We also organise the recycling of the aluminium: the bottles can be returned to Bioflore in Wavre or to L’Herboristerie de Louise in Brussels, to be sent to a company that recycles and reuses the material.

If you’d like to use this hydrosol as a mist, a spray nozzle is available for purchase: simply screw it onto your bottle and reuse it on your future bottles. An economical and eco-friendly solution that helps reduce waste.

As they contain no preservatives, we recommend storing our hydrosols in the fridge to best preserve their quality and avoid exposure to temperature fluctuations.

Once opened, we recommend using them within 3 months.
